Welcome to Aftermath Autosports

In racing, finishing second seems worse than crashing out sometimes. This is the principle that every driver at Aftermath Autosports wants to live by. That being said, championships are not won by finishing the race in the garage. Championships are won through winning, and being consistent. Finishing races in the top 10 will garner a great result at the end of the season. Welcome to Aftermath Autosports. As you browse the site, make sure to click the links at the top of the page that will take you to each of our drivers info page.

OUR HISTORY

Aftermath Autosports was born in the summer of 1996 when team owner and founder Eric Riviere created "Eric Riviere Racing." Riviere began his racing career that year when NASCAR Racing 2 by Papyrus was released. It was a single car operation, and while not dominant, Riviere showed good speed, especially at the mile and a half tracks. Fast forward a few years to the year 2000 when Eric's cousin Chris Riviere joined the team. Chris drove the number 17 (a number that is still active with the team) and Eric drove the number 24. In the summer of 2002, the Riviere's changed the name to CERJ Racing. The acronym CERJ stands for Chris Eric Riviere John (their grandfather who had recently passed away.)

When Chris went away to college, his racing days were all but over. This left Eric to carry on with the team. After a few seasons and over 25 race wins, CERJ Racing closed its doors in the summer of 2005 after Hurricane Katrina hit the teams hometown of New Orleans.

Now here we sit, winter of 2010. We are heading into the 2011 NASCAR season. Speedweeks at Daytona are fast approaching and an original copy of NASCAR Racing 2003 Season by Papyrus was sitting in the depths of a file cabinet. Eric Riviere decided to install the simulator on a laptop. He then downloaded all of the latest mods including the Bull-Ring mod giving access to the 2011 model cars. CERJ Racing was back up and running as a single car team! Riviere was driving the number 2 car.

In the fall of 2014, Riviere made the shift to iRacing.com, the updated version of the ever popular Papyrus simulators. The team was in need of a face-lift, and born was Aftermath Autosports! In his plot to assemble and grow a dominant team, Riviere enlisted a young Zach Mecca to drive the number 125 car. Mecca drove for his own single car team prior to joining Aftermath. This was just the beginning of something great!

After the hiring of Zach Mecca, Riviere wanted to continue expanding the team. So after running in the Vintage Racing Group, The team took notice of a really fast Ryan Nichols. He was driving for his own team driving the number 7 car. Once Ryan joined, a few races into the 2017 VRG season, the team really started to show its muscle! At the end of the 2017 season, Ryan changed his number to 07 to add to the face-lift of the team

June 2018: Add Zachary Weaver. This was a big signing for Aftermath Autosports as Weaver was the team owner of the VERY fast HSR (High Speed Racing,) a multi car organization that was very strong especially at the restrictor plate tracks Daytona and Talladega Superspeedway. Weaver joined the team and changed from his traditional number 33 to the sleeker, number 03.

Finally, in the offseason of 2020, Aftermath Autosports made headlines again when they officially parted ways with long time driver Zach Mecca and added former HSR driver, James Coulibaly. James brings a level of calming to a very high strung team. With his extreme consistency, and always finishing races in the number 17 car, James is the final piece to the roster puzzle at Aftermath Autosports!

There have been many lineup changes within the team over the years, and we truly appreciate the services of all of our former drivers! These names include:

David Dorrell #06

Bailey Gelinas #63

Alex "Frenchy" French #64

Zach Mecca #125, #23

Aftermath Autosports is also a supporter of the United States Military, and we would like to thank all of those who have sacrificed for us to be free! We would also like to specifically thank Alex French and David Dorrell for their service as they were both on the team and both got deployed to protect our beautiful country! God Bless you guys!
